Baguette Engagement Rings

Baguette rings are one of the most popular cut diamonds for diamond engagement rings. The term ‘baguette’ is of french origin and refers to a long piece of french bread. The shape of the diamond cut is called this as it is also long and rectangular in shape. This cut is particularly prismatic and reflects the light with a beautiful sparkle, which is why they are so desired for engagement rings.
Diamond rings are timeless and traditional. They are highly revered rings due to their rarity, durability and beauty. Often baguette diamonds are used in cluster engagement rings to highlight the ring and add dimension to the design. Cluster rings feature a cluster of closely knit diamonds that usually have mixed cuts, they are unique and often more affordable.
Baguette diamonds are also very popular in wedding rings. When placed in a channel setting, a baguette diamond effortlessly paves the band and adds an element of glamour to your bridal set.

What is a baguette style diamond?
Baguette cut diamonds are long, rectangular stones (though they can also be square or tapered). Brilliant cut diamonds have 57 facets, whereas baguette diamonds only have 14. The long tapered cuts fall into the category of diamond cuts called step cuts.
Are baguette engagement rings affordable?
Baguette cut diamonds are often less expensive than other diamond cuts like brilliant rounds or an emerald-cut. However, the price of a baguette diamond will depend on its features and functions such as colour and clarity.
What is the difference between baguette and emerald?
Rectangular cut diamonds typically have 14 facets and large, open tables. Similarities between baguette diamonds and emerald diamonds are often noted, however, there is a very simple difference between the two. While an emerald cut diamond has cut, somewhat curved corners, baguettes have angled, unbeveled corners which gives them their striking rectangular shape with clean lines and sharp corners.
How are baguette diamonds used in engagement rings?
Baguette diamonds are used in many different ways. They can be a part of a cluster ring, in which baguettes (typically along with other cut diamonds) are placed close together to create the illusion of one larger diamond. They can be used as the centre stone, where it is the focal point of the ring, or they are often used in a channel setting to pave the band and maximise sparkle.
